Qualifications

• Handles stressful situations with composure under pressure.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and associates.
• Performs basic arithmetic for cash handling and pricing.
• Holds a current food handlers permit upon employment.
• Proficiency in a second language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Role model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate our Customers.
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers
• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Answer questions about products to help customers feel welcome and respected
• Know products well and make helpful recommendations
• Prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise
• Inform customers of produce specials and discounts
• Suggest items to ensure customers get what they want
• Maintain proper temperatures and logs for cases and coolers
• Inspect products for quality and freshness and take action when needed
• Stock and label department merchandise
• Report discrepancies to the department manager
• Stay informed about ads and promotions
• Report safety risks or issues to store management
• Assist with safety and preventive maintenance as needed
• Notify management of accidents or unsafe conditions
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
• Handle conflicts constructively and with honesty
• Respect customer and business information
• Follow directions and ask for help to resolve issues
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
