Job summary

Marmon Industrial Energy and Infrastructure in Connecticut is seeking a Press Operator to assemble mechanical units and sub-assemblies in a routine, manual production setting. You will use hand and power tools, jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, and drilling equipment to cut, file, fit, rivet, and assemble parts.

Candidates typically have 3-5 years of experience, can read simple blueprints, and can monitor quality, perform basic maintenance, and correct minor machine malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical units or sub-assemblies according to routine assembly operations.
• Use jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, and various machines to cut, form, and fit parts.
• Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts to meet tolerances and product requirements.
• Monitor quality of products and raw materials and perform basic machine maintenance.

Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitors quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision. Typical job titles include: Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer.
