Job summary

Marmon Industrial Energy and Infrastructure is seeking a Production Operator for the East Granby, CT area. You will assemble mechanical units and sub-assemblies using a variety of hand and power tools, read simple blueprints, and ensure product quality.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience and offers broad supervision with opportunities for growth. You will work with jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, and various presses, performing maintenance and addressing minor machine malfunctions as

Qualifications

• Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations.
• Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble.
• Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements.
• Monitors quality of products and raw materials.
• May read simple blueprints.
• Performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning.
• Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions.
• Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision.
• Typical job titles include: Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical units and sub-assemblies according to drawings and work instructions.
• Operate hand and power tools and equipment to cut, form, and assemble parts.
• Monitor product and material quality and report defects.
• Read simple blueprints and verify tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and machines.
