Job summary

Pima County is seeking a Purchasing and Warehouse Supervisor to organize and oversee the purchasing, procurement, warehousing and issue of supplies and equipment for the Sheriff's Department. This role ensures compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and internal policies while coordinating inventory control and budget considerations.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least three years of relevant experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in purchasing, materials management, public administration or related field.
• Three years in purchasing, procurement, warehousing, receipt and issue of supplies and equipment.
• Three years with Pima County in a Buyer series or related position, including one year of warehousing supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises purchasing, requisition, receipt, storage, issuance and disposal of supplies and equipment for the department.
• Supervises, trains and evaluates employees.
• Prepares and reviews purchase requisitions and bid specifications to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Coordinates emergency loan or procurement of vital supplies and equipment.
• Develops and enforces purchasing, warehousing, and inventory control processes.
