Woodgrain in Independence, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to manage the day-to-day storeroom operations and procurement of parts, supplies, and materials for various machinery and operations.

The role emphasizes securing best value, timely delivery, and strong vendor relationships to support facility needs. Requires prior purchasing experience, inventory control knowledge, and SAP proficiency.

Formación

• 2 years prior experience in purchasing preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory control and basic shipping and receiving.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have clean DMV record.
• Ability to clearly communicate written and verbally 100% of the work day.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GIS.

Responsabilidades

• Assist maintenance and production personnel as needed to provide good customer service and expedited support.
• Scan all receiving documentation and attach to each purchase order in SAP.
• Resolve purchase order or receiving issues using SAP Opentext.
• Utilize SAP MRP reorder reporting daily for reordering storeroom materials.
• Establish and manage reorder points and maximum quantities per usage history.
• Maintain SAP inventory material records and accuracy of descriptions.
• Maintain SAP inventory material descriptions and shelf label accuracy.
• Reorganize storeroom items to keep a well-organized storeroom.
• Conduct monthly revolving physical inventory of storeroom materials.
• Maintain accurate software information in SAP programs.
• Prepare UPS, Fed-Ex, and LTL freight for shipment.
• Meet with sales personnel to leverage new products and product knowledge.
• Provide pricing, availability, and substitution information to assist decision-making.
• Utilize competitive vendors with timely delivery records.
• Expedite unavailable parts and supplies.
• Acquire parts locally when needed.
• Pickup parts and supplies locally when required.
• Other duties assigned by Plant Manager.
