Job summary

Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a Procurement Specialist 2 to administer and manage subcontracts for services and equipment, emphasizing professionalism and customer service. The role focuses on awards, administration, and closeout in SRNL's procurement system, with leadership in negotiations and process improvements.

Preferred candidates bring government procurement experience (DOE/DOD or prime contractor), FAR-based procurement knowledge, and a track record of rapid purchasing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Preference for experience with government procurement, DOE, DOD or prime contractor; FAR-based procurement; rapid purchasing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert for subcontract awards, administration and closeout in line with SRNL procurement system.
• Lead pre-procurement activities, negotiations, process improvements and best-value procurements.
• Review requests and specs for DOE prime contract adherence and SRNL policies.
• Maintain complete procurement files and demonstrate clear written documentation of transactions.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize and drive improvement initiatives.
• Lead formation, solicitation, evaluation, negotiation and award of subcontracts (fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, T&M).
