Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Buyer I to oversee procurement and compliance across purchasing activities. You will handle requisitions, RFQs, bid packages, and supplier performance while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

In this role you will identify cost-saving opportunities, manage vendor relationships, and ensure adherence to FAR/DFARS and corporate policies, with opportunities for growth in a dynamic, defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 2 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with procurement systems and compliance guidelines.
• Track record of achieving cost savings and managing vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze purchase requisitions.
• Develop RFQs using specifications or SOWs.
• Prepare bid packages, evaluate proposals, and negotiate PO price/terms.
• Administer purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and policy compliance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage procurement risk.
• Manage vendors and provide policy interpretation/guidance.
• Generate procurement and compliance reports as needed.
• Assist with improving procurement policies and training materials.
