Job summary

42dot is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing and purchasing across hardware, software, and operations for its Sunnyvale team, supporting autonomous driving and mobility programs.

You will partner with engineering, finance, and legal to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement while maintaining compliance with export controls and company policies. This role suits a proactive, detail-focused professional in a fast-paced startup setting.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
• Familiarity with procurement/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Coupa) and proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications for hardware/electronic components is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Clear communicator with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Knowledge of export control regulations (EAR/ITAR) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor negotiation, purchase orders, and tracking.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for hardware components and indirect goods/services.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure favorable outcomes while maintaining supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with engineering and R&D to understand technical sourcing requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and quality to resolve risks or delays.
• Maintain procurement records and vendor documentation in company systems.
• Support budget tracking and cost analysis with finance.
• Ensure procurement complies with policy, export controls, and legal/import rules.
• Assist with vendor renewals, NDAs, and MSAs with legal.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement.
