Job summary

42dot is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist in Sunnyvale to manage sourcing and purchasing across hardware, software, engineering tools, and operations. You will partner with the Operations team to meet day-to-day purchasing needs and work with engineering, finance, and legal to ensure materials are available at the right cost and time.

This role involves negotiating with suppliers, evaluating new vendors, and maintaining procurement records.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles; automotive/hardware/tech preferred.
• Experience reading technical specs for hardware/electronic components is a plus.
• Familiar with procurement/ERP systems and strong Excel/Sheets skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and legal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, PO issuance, and tracking.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for hardware and indirect goods/services.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure favorable outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering/R&D to understand sourcing requirements for prototype materials.
• Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and quality to resolve risks.
• Maintain procurement records and vendor documentation in company systems.
• Support budget tracking and cost analysis with finance.
• Ensure compliance with company policy, export control regulations and import requirements.
• Assist with vendor contracts, NDAs, and MSAs with legal.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
