Job summary

Wardcraft Industries LLC is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support manufacturing operations by handling purchases of raw materials, components, and services. You will ensure competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery while coordinating with internal teams.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, organization, and negotiation skills, plus experience with purchase orders and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

At least two years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing.
Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience creating and managing purchase orders.
Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems.
Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and Office programs.
Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain purchase orders.
Confirm pricing, quantities, specifications, lead times, and delivery dates with suppliers.
Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on delivery commitments.
Obtain competitive quotes and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, lead time, and service.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Source alternative components and suppliers when availability, cost, quality, or lead-time concerns arise.
Communicate supplier delays or changes that may affect production schedules or customer commitments.
Work with Engineering, Production, Sales, Quality, and Accounting to resolve purchasing issues.
Resolve invoice, purchase-order, receiving, and pricing discrepancies.
Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, lead-time, and purchasing information in the ERP system.
Monitor supplier performance and communicate recurring quality, delivery, pricing, or service concerns.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve lead times, and strengthen supply continuity.
Maintain purchasing documentation, quotations, supplier correspondence, and related records.
