Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities
- Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders in accordance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to support production, engineering, R&D, and general business requirements.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements, priorities, specifications, and required delivery dates.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, capability, reliability, lead time, and prior performance.
- Request and evaluate supplier quotations and support price and commercial term negotiations.
- Maintain supplier relationships and follow up on open orders, delivery schedules, shortages, and other supply issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing history, supplier information, and related procurement documentation.
- Support inventory forecasting and material planning to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing shortages and excess inventory.
- Coordinate incoming material and logistics activities with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and other internal teams.
- Purchase facility supplies, consumables, equipment, and R&D materials and ensure purchases are allocated to the appropriate department or budget.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, lead-time reduction, supplier consolidation, and procurement process improvement.
- Assist with supplier performance monitoring and resolution of delivery, pricing, documentation, or quality-related issues.
- Perform other procurement and supply-chain-related duties as assigned.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Min. 2 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ERP, MRP, inventory, or purchasing systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop productive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with supplier quotation analysis and negotiation is preferred.
