Job summary

The Procurement Specialist at Martin Marietta will support procurement activities, vendor management, and ensure alignment with safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards across the organization.

You will collaborate with Operations, Category Managers, and cross-functional teams, conduct spend analyses, lead RFXs for large projects, and drive supplier negotiations while traveling up to 35-55% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent education/experience preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in procurement or a related field (aggregates, manufacturing, construction, or similar industries preferred).
  • Basic understanding of sourcing, negotiating, and procurement processes for equipment, materials, and services.
  • Familiarity with supplier contracts and compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with software and systems (ERP, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Tableau is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working within diverse teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 35-55% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to regional sourcing strategies and national category initiatives.
  • Lead Formal RFXs for large projects or spend categories through company tender platform.
  • Complete Supplier Contracts for all on-site suppliers, large spend suppliers and specific projects per annual KPI goal.
  • Process purchase requests, obtain quotes, review bids and proposals, and prepare purchase orders.
  • Manage supplier prequalification and ensure ongoing compliance with company requirements.
  • Drive adoption of contract usage, eProcurement systems, procurement channel compliance, and supplier spend consolidation.
  • Support and deliver procurement and supply chain training initiatives for Division management.
  • Maintain alignment with the Company's Mission, Vision, and Values and adhere to policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Position Summary

The Procurement Specialist will provide foundational support to procurement activities, assisting in vendor management and ensuring alignment with company standards for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Key Responsibilities
  • Support local procurement activities and monitor vendor performance, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Perform formal spend and cost comparison analyses and identify improvement opportunities, including:Leading supplier identification, selection, and consolidation efforts.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $75,000 -$96,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position. In addition, this role is eligible for our annual bonus program. Bonuses awarded under this program are determined based on the performance of the organization and the employee. In addition to our base compensation, we also offer a competitive benefits package for full-time employees, including medical, dental and vision coverage; prescription drug coverage; health savings accounts; flexible spending accounts; and life, AD&D and disability insurance.
