Job summary

The University at Albany seeks an Assistant Director of Procurement Services to lead specialized procurements, develop contracts, and ensure compliance with NYS/SUNY rules. You will oversee RFx processes, negotiate terms, and manage a procurement team to support the university’s mission.

Reporting to the Director of Procurement Services, you will collaborate with departments, SUNY system administration, and state agencies to optimize purchasing outcomes and control risk while maintaining process

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in procurement and contract administration.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Request for Proposals, Invitations for Bids, contract development and negotiation.

Responsibilities

Develop specialized procurements and contracts requiring unique specifications and integration of strategic, financial, contractual, and risk management elements.
Monitor and track procurement requests to ensure timely processing and maintain metrics for contracts and purchase orders.
Develop, document, and implement departmental procedures to improve efficiencies and ensure NYS/SUNY procurement compliance.
Lead and manage direct reports to ensure goals and performance align with the University’s mission.
Oversee negotiation of contract language and awards of purchase orders in accordance with NYS/SUNY rules.
