Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District is seeking a Procurement Supervisor to oversee procurement specialists and buyers, ensuring adherence to district policies and procedures to maximize service quality and achieve total-cost-to-own objectives. The role includes leading processes across purchase orders, bids, contracts, and supplier relations.

The position reports to the Procurement Manager and requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and experience with SAP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area with five years of professional level experience.
  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in business or related program with ten years of professional level experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Experience with SAP and knowledge of procurement for public utilities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Procurement Specialists and Buyers; lead and ensure policy compliance in procurement activities.
  • Provide process leadership and direction for procurement, and collaborate with district teams on projects.
  • Assist Procurement Manager in establishing standards and guiding procurement processes per state statutes and policies.
  • Develop and implement opportunities for continuous process improvement and internal controls.
