Job summary

MP Materials seeks a Procurement Supervisor to own the P2P cycle, lead a six-person team, and partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering on capital projects. You will drive cost savings, ensure contract compliance, and manage supplier relationships within a fully integrated supply chain.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, safety governance, and data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, logistics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive commercial purchasing, project procurement, or supply chain experience in an industrial, mining, refining, or petrochemical processing environment.
• Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience, overseeing purchasing specialists, buyers, or expeditors (3+ staff; 5+ preferred).
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP experience) and advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Expertise in P2P principles, contract terms, total life cycle cost analysis, and industrial safety/governance standards.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Operational Ownership: supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of buyers; set daily priorities and workloads.
• Supplier Management & Cost Reduction: negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery; analyze costs for savings without sacrificing quality.
• Procure-to-Pay (P2P) & SAP Discipline: ensure accurate SAP transactions and data integrity; enforce PO timelines and cross-functional coordination.
• Continuous Improvement & Change Leadership: leverage tools and analytics to optimize procurement, KPIs, and decision-making.
• Independently lead in a hands-on industrial environment with urgency and boots-on-the-ground engagement.
