Job summary

Etex in Maryville, TN is seeking a Procurement Specialist to lead purchasing for the Promat Plant and hosted units. You will source materials, manage supplier relationships, optimize inventory, and execute purchasing strategies to ensure continuous supply.

The role partners with production, planning, operations, logistics, and finance to balance cost, quality, and delivery, while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory management, or sourcing in manufacturing.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and purchase orders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Working knowledge of MRP and inventory management.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
• Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all applicable laws, ethics, and plant safety policies.
• Serve as the primary buyer for the Maryville operation and hosted units.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for materials and supplies.
• Perform MRP analysis and execute procurement plans to ensure material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain stock to support production and demand.
• Analyze inventory trends and forecasts to determine purchasing requirements.
• Develop relationships with suppliers and service providers.
• Source new suppliers and evaluate capabilities, pricing, and risk.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and service agreements.
• Establish backup sources for critical items and manage supplier risk.
• Assess risks and support continuity planning.
• Review supplier performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Track deliveries and resolve shortages, delays, or quality concerns.
• Coordinate communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide updates on shortages and supply risks to Customer Service and operations.
• Manage purchasing documentation and accounts payable reconciliation.
• Support supplier audits, visits, and performance reviews.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and reduce obsolete inventory.
• Assist with annual physical inventory audits.
