Job summary

Firestorm, headquartered in San Diego, CA, seeks a proactive Buyer to lead end-to-end procurement for mission-critical hardware and components. You will manage BOMs, secure on-time material availability, and mitigate risks across prototype to production builds, collaborating with engineering and operations.

Based at our San Diego headquarters, this on-site role emphasizes supplier ecosystems, regulatory compliance, and cost-reduction strategies to support defense‑grade integrated systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of supply chain or sourcing experience, in a manufacturing or technology environment, including technical procurement.
• Experience with ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint, SAP, etc.) and PLM systems (Arena).
• Hands-on experience sourcing and procuring for prototype and production builds.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle procurement: issue RFQs, evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, place POs, manage delivery schedules, and resolve past-due items.
• Place purchase orders and coordinate with receiving, quality, and finance to resolve issues.
• Conduct price and cost analysis to inform acquisition strategies and contract negotiations.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and track procurement expenditures.
