Job summary

The United States Postal Service Law Department seeks an outstanding attorney to join our Procurement Law team, domiciled in Washington, DC. Telework is available one day per week.

The Procurement Law team provides primary legal support for clients in the Postal Service's Supply Management, Transportation Strategy, and Fleet Modernization & Electrification organizations. Responsibilities include advising on federal government contracts, litigating before administrative bodies and federal courts,

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• 3 years of experience advising clients in contract disputes or commercial litigation.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to federal government contracts.
• Ability to prepare pretrial briefs, motions, pleadings, responses and other documents with little supervision.
• Ability to provide legal advice on regulations, practices, or legal matters.
• Ability to litigate cases before administrative bodies and federal courts.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to negotiate with third parties.
• Experience conducting legal research using internal/external documents and databases.
