Job summary

Paylocity in Pratt, KS is seeking a detail‑oriented Purchasing Clerk to compile information and prepare purchase orders for material deliveries. You will verify parts, check contracts, and maintain records of purchases, prices, and inventories.

You will also compute total costs, communicate with suppliers about delays, place orders for department needs, and assist with freight check‑in and requisition fulfillment. A background in basic purchasing processes is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer relations and attention to detail are essential.
• Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts.
• Must be able to work independently and at a moderately fast pace.
• Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos and respond accordingly.
• Basic computer skills are needed to perform job satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Prepare purchase orders and send to suppliers.
• Verify parts and specifications of purchase requests.
• Check whether items are on contract.
• Maintain records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.
• Compute total cost of items purchased.
• Confer with suppliers about late deliveries and shortages.
• Order supplies when requested by departments.
• Build totes for surgery department.
• Fill requisitions and deliver to departments when needed.
• Help check in freight when needed.
