Job summary

Shield HealthCare in Valencia, CA is seeking a Purchasing Agent to coordinate procurement of goods and services for the organization. The role requires hands-on experience in requisition reviews, vendor negotiations, PO preparation and expediting deliveries.

You will analyze inventory parameters, resolve backorders, and collaborate with QA and users to address quality issues. Proficiency in Excel and data entry is expected, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• 5 years purchasing experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good analytical skills.
• Multi-task ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry.
• Inventory management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions and confer with vendors for price, availability and delivery.
• Prepare purchase orders and expedite deliveries.
• Address issues with quality control personnel and vendors to identify root causes.
• Maintain backorder reports and review slow-turning inventory.
• Analyze and adjust reorder parameters and inventory levels.
• Conduct periodic location verification and perform miscellaneous projects.
