The role requires reviewing requisitions, creating purchase orders, negotiating terms, and coordinating with vendors, Receiving, and Accounts Payable to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement in a strict compliance framework. This on-site, Monday-Friday position offers regular shift hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing department or related healthcare procurement environment
• Experience purchasing commodities, supplies, equipment, and services

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions for completeness, accuracy, approvals, specifications, and purchasing requirements.
• Process and edit requisitions for routine supplies, equipment, and services.
• Create and process purchase orders with accurate vendor information, quantities, pricing, and terms.
• Place orders with suppliers and confirm current contract pricing and delivery expectations.
• Follow up with vendors on pricing, order status, backorders, and deliveries.
• Enter purchase orders and maintain purchasing records.
• Assist with contracts, renewals, and supplier evaluations.
• Support negotiations on price and terms under Purchasing leadership.
• Perform competitive bidding per policies.
• Identify cost-effective products and alternatives.
• Coordinate with departments, Receiving, vendors, and Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies.
• Process repair requests and related documentation for equipment service.
• Build relationships with department managers and understand purchasing needs.
• Maintain knowledge of commodities, products, suppliers, and emerging technologies.
• Serve as a purchasing resource for departments with product and vendor information.
• Support cost-effective purchasing within organizational policies and procedures.
