Job summary

Lonestar Equipment Solutions is seeking an experienced Purchasing and Inventory Control Associate to manage procurement and maintain accurate inventories for the company. The role involves negotiating with vendors, maintaining databases, and collaborating with sales and logistics to optimize operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills, with proficiency in MS Office and inventory software. Travel to vendors or other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and ethics when dealing with vendors, coworkers, and customers.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability.
• Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
• Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.
• Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with policies.
• Collaborates with sales, customer service, and logistics to maximize purchasing/inventory efficiency.
• Communicates with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, price, or sale conditions issues.
• Purchases large and complex items.
• Develops policies/processes related to purchasing/inventory control to maximize efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
