Job summary

Interfor Corporation in Kentucky is seeking students to join as interns in procurement. You will gain practical experience in wood procurement, log valuation, and data collection while supporting mill operations. This on-site role offers exploration of contractor relationships and process improvements for a hands-on learning path.

You are enrolled in forestry or related programs, with a basic safety mindset and the ability to work outdoors. A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Get hands-on exposure to wood procurement and the role it plays in supporting mill operations.
• Assist with log valuation and stumpage acquisition activities.
• Learn how strong relationships with logging contractors support safe and efficient operations.
• Collect and organize data to support procurement decisions and day-to-day activities.
• Contribute to process improvement projects while learning from experienced procurement professionals.

You’ll work alongsideexperienced procurement professionals, build practical skills, and gain a betterunderstanding of how wood procurement, log valuation, contractor relationships,data collection, and process improvement support our mill operations. If youenjoy working outdoors, solving problems, and learning how logs move from theforest to the mill, this could be the summer opportunity for you!

This position requires youto be on-site to perform the job duties and ideally the candidate will start inMay 2027 and be available from 4-8 months.

• Salariesstarting from $3,700 per month (based on your year inschool and previous experience).
