Procurement Expeditor – Data Center Construction
EPC Project Management Consulting, LLC provides full-service Owner’s Representative support across the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) lifecycle. We specialize in delivering complex, large-scale industrial and mission‑critical programs. Partnering directly with hyperscale and colocation owners, we manage, execute, and protect their interests from preconstruction through commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of reliability.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Expeditor – Data Center Construction to oversee and protect project delivery timelines across our expanding mission‑critical portfolio. In this role, you will bridge the gap between commercial procurement commitments and physical delivery on site, maintaining proactive control over critical-path equipment schedules.
Operating as the owner's representative, you will manage vendors, track manufacturing milestones, and coordinate logistics across multiple project sites simultaneously. Your primary focus will be tracking long‑lead electrical and mechanical infrastructure packages—ensuring that submittals, factory fabrication, testing, and job site deliveries align directly with construction master schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Order & Commitment Tracking: Track purchase orders and vendor commitments from award through job site delivery.
- Manufacturing & Submittal Oversight: Actively monitor submittals, fabrication progress, factory milestones, Factory Witness Testing (FWT/FAT), and shipping schedules.
- Vendor & Logistics Coordination: Coordinate directly with OEMs, suppliers, fabricators, and freight/logistics providers to confirm delivery commitments and resolve logistical bottlenecks.
- Risk Identification & Escalation: Proactively identify and escalation procurement delays, supply chain constraints, and delivery risks that threaten critical path milestones.
- Status Reporting & Delivery Forecasts: Maintain accurate, up-to-date procurement tracking logs, milestone forecasts, and equipment status reports for project leadership and owners.
- Site Delivery Coordination: Collaborate closely with on‑site project managers, general contractors, and trade leads to align equipment arrival windows, site staging, and offloading sequences.
- Multi-Project Management: Support multiple concurrent data center builds, prioritizing efforts across complex long‑lead electrical and mechanical equipment packages.
Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Experience: 5+ years of procurement, expediting, or supply chain coordination experience.
- Sector Background: Direct experience in data center, mission‑critical, or large‑scale industrial construction environments strongly preferred.
- Equipment Knowledge: Working familiarity with long‑lead mission‑critical equipment, including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, busway / bus bars, and mechanical cooling systems (chillers, CRAH, CRAC units).
- Vendor & Project Coordination: Proven ability to manage multiple equipment packages, suppliers, and logistics streams across concurrent projects.
- Communication & Organization: Strong communication, escalation management, and detailed tracking/reporting capabilities.
- Mobility: Willingness and flexibility to travel periodically to job sites, manufacturing facilities, or supplier locations as required by project milestones.
