Job summary

The Weitz Company, through EPI Power, is seeking a Procurement Engineer to oversee purchasing for the Pre Fab Shop. You will order materials, monitor delivery, and facilitate communication between the project team and suppliers.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in a purchasing function.
Electrical experience is preferred.
Understanding of material work planning and purchasing requirements.
High level of initiative and excellent judgement.
Ability to multitask.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; team oriented.

Responsibilities

Initiate and manage purchase orders, align delivery with project schedule.
Assist in specification reviews, bid preparation, submittal review, and quotes, including supplier work statements and proposals.
Collaborate with logistics to ensure timely arrival of materials.
Track incorrect or late orders and expedite as needed.
Resolve payment and/or material discrepancies; track refunds if necessary.
Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract obligations are met; identify new suppliers as needed.
Issue and maintain department reports.
Assist with material inspection, factory testing, and coordination of meetings.
