Job summary

Tucson Electric Power Company is offering a Summer Student Intern position in the Procurement & Contracts Department in Tucson. The role provides administrative support and collaboration with the team, with student interns working part-time during the school year and increased hours in the summer.

The intern will perform tasks such as data entry, reports, PowerPoint presentations, scheduling, and supporting project work, requiring strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Business Management/Administration or related field ideally with a graduation date no earlier than May 2028.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 15 - 20 hours per week during regular business hours; and 20 - 40 hours a week during the summer and school breaks.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex administrative functions in support of the Procurement & Contracts department including typing, filing, reports, analyzing and presenting results to department management, developing PowerPoint presentations, scheduling meetings, and working on special projects.
• Must possess functional knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, including Excel spreadsheets, word processing, PowerPoint, and presentation software; knowledge of Oracle eBusiness Suite is preferred; ability to collect, compile and analyze data and present findings.
• Independent judgment and initiative are required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups across functional lines.
• Position requires poise, tact, diplomacy and a willingness to function in a solution oriented capacity.
