Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a Purchasing Clerk to join a premier manufacturing client in Fenton, MI. This 100% onsite role pays $25-26/hour and runs Monday–Friday 7:30AM–4:30PM as a temporary position.

The day-to-day involves sourcing materials, placing orders, coordinating between suppliers and internal teams, and maintaining SAP data. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in purchasing, strong communication, and ERP/SAP proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of purchasing experience in a professional setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365; SAP experience required.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Qualify alternative sources of materials and ensure standards compliance.
• Place procurement orders with suppliers as directed by inventory management.
• Liaise between suppliers, inventory, and shipping/receiving to ensure timely delivery.
• Process vendor price changes and obtain management approvals.
• Maintain open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for delivery.
• Update SAP with supplier order acknowledgements and delivery commitments.
• Resolve routine purchasing, receiving, and invoice discrepancies with stakeholders.
• Maintain purchasing master data, supplier records, lead times, and pricing in SAP.
• Review supplier price change notifications and conduct MRO invoice reconciliations.
