Job summary

Vitesse Systems is seeking a detail‑oriented Purchasing Clerk for an on‑site role in Webster, TX. You will prepare purchase orders, communicate with vendors, inspect shipments, and track purchases to meet specifications.

You will collaborate with engineering on drawings and updates, while maintaining supplier records and supporting kitting/build orders. The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑moving

• Advanced competency in Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Generate requests for quotes and purchase orders based on information provided by engineering and best practices.
• Maintain effective relationships with approved suppliers.
• Send requests for quotes to multiple suppliers for the same items.
• Follow up with suppliers to receive quotes in a timely manner.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
• Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late orders.
• Receive and inspect items on delivery, verifying that quality requirements are met.
• Notify management of any delivery, cost, or quality problems.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, traceability, and other important data.
• Evaluate and maintain current database of supplier information.
• Support kitting functions as needed.
• Create build orders as needed.
• Do not accept incentives from suppliers.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment.
• Other duties as assigned
