Job summary

Susquehanna is seeking a procurement attorney to join our in-house counsel team at our Bala Cynwyd headquarters. You will work with the purchasing team to advise on procurement and commercial matters, drafting and negotiating vendor agreements for software, data, services, and hardware.

You will partner with information security and compliance to address vendor-related issues and guide business units on risk, while helping streamline the contract review process.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of procurement or commercial contracts experience.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Strong organization, planning, problem‑solving, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication with all levels of management.
• Independent and proactive with minimal supervision.
• Discretion handling confidential information.

Overview

Susquehanna has a job opportunity available for a procurement attorney to join our in-house counsel / legal team in our Bala Cynwyd headquarters. In this role, you will work directly with our purchasing team and advise the various business units they support on a broad array of procurement and commercial matters. You will draft, review, and negotiate agreements covering software, technology, market data, professional services, equipment, and other goods and services that support our business. Your role will be that of a legal partner to our purchasing team, strategizing with colleagues and business management teams to structure vendor relationships, manage risk, and develop practical solutions to issues raised by all relevant stakeholders.

In this role, you will

• Work directly with Susquehanna's purchasing team to provide frontline legal support on procurement and vendor matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for software, technology, market data, professional services, equipment, and other goods and services
• Advise purchasing and business teams on contractual terms, legal risks, and practical solutions that support business objectives
• Partner with information security, compliance, and other internal teams to address issues arising in vendor relationships
• Assist with streamlining the purchasing and contract review process

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 3-4 years of procurement or commercial contracts legal experience required; experience negotiating technology, software licensing, and vendor agreements a plus
• Must possess strong negotiation skills
• Strong organization, effective planning, problem solving, and analytical skills required
• Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to liaise comfortably with all levels of management
• Must exhibit initiative in obtaining information needed to proceed with projects and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations or urgent requests that may arise with little or no notice
• Must possess discretion and sensitivity when working with confidential information and safeguard such information appropriately
• Ability to exhibit independent judgment when evaluating projects or assignment needs
• Knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Willingness to work additional and flexible hours on occasion
