Job summary

Utah State University is seeking a detail-oriented purchasing professional to join the Purchasing and Contract Services team in Logan. You will obtain pricing, research the marketplace, and advise on contract terms to support campus procurement needs.

Responsibilities include preparing bid sourcing events, issuing purchase orders, advising departments on policies, and ensuring compliance with university and state regulations. A collaborative environment and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and either 2 years of experience or 6 years of equivalent experience.
• Customer focus and ability to build effective relationships with USU departments.
• Effective communication and self-management to report status, issues, risks, and process problems.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain attention to detail with strong proofreading.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate information to determine best solutions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bid sourcing events and evaluate proposals, lead review committees, ensure procedures follow policies.
• Issues purchase orders and communicates with departments.
• Advise departments on purchasing policies and provide vendor sources.
• Research and review purchasing requests; maintain knowledge of rules and regulations.
• Direct contact with vendors/suppliers and ensure compliance with standards.
