Job Summary

Serves as a liaison between the University community and vendors on matters relating to purchase orders. Responsible for the procurement of a wide variety of commodities and services in accordance with state, local laws and regulations, University policies and procedures.

  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and change orders. Procures commodities and services in accordance with State law and University rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Assists with preparing and/or reviewing documented quotes.
  • Provides assistance with processing and monitoring of sole source requests, piggyback agreements, and TCM contracts.
  • Makes recommendations on purchasing actions and methods, and prepares and maintains supporting documentation.
  • Monitors University, State and Local contracts, and other higher education purchasing consortium contracts utilized by the University. Serves as a liaison between user departments and vendors.
  • Orients University community to State and University purchasing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Acquires and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the purchasing support systems available to the University including the University Card program and PeopleSoft system. Attends meetings and training as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experience or Master's degree and one (1) year of related experience.
