PRL Industries, Inc. is seeking a Processing Engineer to perform a variety of functions across foundry engineering, process engineering, and special projects.
The role involves aiding management of production operations, providing leadership to supervision staff, improving productivity, quality, and process control, and collaborating with NDT and QA teams. The position requires hands-on experience in casting upgrade processes and metals manufacturing, with strong problem-solving abilities.
The Processing Engineer performs a variety of functions within PRL Industries, Inc. The job function will touch on foundry engineering, process engineering and special projects.
General: Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with occasional interruption and attend to tasks for 45 to 60 minutes at a time. An individual must be able to understand and relate to theories. Ability to remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time; ability to prioritize given shifting priorities; ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form, using technical, advanced writing skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Materials/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field preferred. An appropriate combination of education and experience will be considered.
Hands‑on experience in casting upgrade processes - welding, grinding, jet‑arc, heat treat, QC/QA, NDT, machining and/or related experience; Three to five years of manufacturing process experience, which should include metals manufacturing, pattern rigging design, casting upgrade processes and machining of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals. Familiar with all aspects of foundry/upgrade operations and associated operations/processes with strong abilities for problem analysis and related implementation of corrective actions/solutions.
Familiarity and ability to use related manufacturing tools and read blueprints. Developed judgment and decision‑making skills. Ability to coordinate operations and to motivate a workforce to produce and ship products, with minimal supervision. Must be able to communicate well with shop personnel, plant management, customers, and suppliers.
