Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer specializing in 3D printing to develop and implement production methods for aerospace castings.

You will design gating, riser and chilling systems and collaborate with tooling, manufacturing and pattern shop personnel to optimize tool design and process performance. You will interpret inspection results, institute corrective actions, and ensure compliance with customer specifications and ISO practices while driving continuous improvement under the director

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical degree in one of the specified engineering fields.
• Experience in foundry, manufacturing, aerospace, and processes preferred.
• Ability to design gating, riser and chilling systems.

Responsibilities

• Design gating, riser and chilling system for aluminum and magnesium aerospace castings.
• Determine optimum tool design with tooling engineer and shop personnel.
• Develop samples and trial castings and oversee process review through all departments.
• Interpret inspection results, institute corrective actions and document procedures.
• Investigate and resolve production problems.
• Maintain part number work instructions for casting process areas.
• Ensure familiarity with customer and regulatory specs and ISO practices.

EXPERIENCE: Foundry, Manufacturing, Aerospace, and Processes experience preferred.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Performs a variety of engineering assignments in developing and implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner. Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems. Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations and related matters. Monitors assigned operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards. This position will be working in the continuous improvement processes and report directly to the Director of Continuous Improvement.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Design gating, riser and chilling system for aluminum and magnesium aerospace castings to ensure compliance with all customers’ specifications
• In conjunction with tooling engineer, manufacturing and pattern shop personnel, determine the optimum tool design for the manufacturing processes
• Design and determine development samples and trial castings or programs, process and review through all manufacturing, inspection and dimensional departments
• Interpret inspection results, investigate nonconforming castings and institute corrective action, sample and confirm corrective measures, document and amend process procedures
• Investigate and resolve production problems
• Responsible for creating and maintaining part number work instructions for all casting process areas
• Be familiar with customer and regulatory specifications
• Be familiar with all internal work instructions and forms, and maintain good ISO practices
