Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a Process Technician for injection molding in Las Vegas, NV. The role focuses on safe start-up and shut-down of molding lines, data collection, and problem solving for continuous improvement.

You will perform tooling changes, ensure first article quality, and collaborate with maintenance to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years’ experience in molding processes, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform tooling changes as scheduled, including setting dryers and thermolators, and operating molding equipment.
• Ensure first piece inspection is complete and product conformance before full production.
• Monitor running machines and keep process documentation up to date.
• Make process adjustments, identify issues, material, tooling, or machines.
• Collaborate with shift leadership and maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Contribute to injection molding continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist Process Engineer to ensure molded specifications are achieved.
• Troubleshoot tooling, press, and material handling systems safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and support 5S activities.
• Perform other activities as directed by supervision.

JOB SUMMARY

The Process Technician for injection molding is responsible for the safe start-up, shut down, and troubleshooting of the Injection molding process during normal production runs. In addition, to setting up injection molding machines and changeovers. Work includes the collection and analysis of production and quality data to perform problem solving and facilitate continuous improvement to production and purchasing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform tooling changes as per schedule, including setting dryers, thermolators, processing functions of molding machine, including line clearance activity
• Ensure first piece inspection is complete, and product is in conformance prior to releasing the line to full production
• Monitor running machines are correct, keeping processes documentation up to date
• Make process adjustments as required, identify issue, material, tooling, machine
• Work closely with shift leadership and maintenance to reduce downtime
• Be an active participant in the injection molding continuous improvement efforts
• Assist Process Engineer and ensuring molded specifications are achieved
• Troubleshoot in safe manner, tooling, press, material handling system
• Self- directed willing to work with minimal supervision following the days planned schedule
• Sustain, help develop “5S” program, maintaining clean, safe work area
• Preform other activities as directed by supervision

KNOWLEDGE OF

• Good mechanical skills, use of hand/power tools
• Good understanding of quality and safety practices

ABILITY TO/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules
• Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• ISO sections pertaining to the position

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong knowledge of all function of the molding process
• 2 years’ experience as a process technician or mold setter
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Able to work independently and as a member of a team
• Able to work in non-climate-controlled environment
• Capacity to work overtime as needed
• Good vision (this can be accomplished with corrective lenses), central and peripheral vision in both eyes to detect objects or movement in the field of view
