Job summary

FBSPL is seeking an experienced Process Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molds and related production equipment in a Charlotte, NC facility. The role supports mold changes, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with injection molding and strong mechanical skills, with the ability to read 2D/3D CAD files and work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of hands‑on injection molding/mold experience preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing injection molds and auxiliary equipment strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read 2D/3D CAD files.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molds, auxiliary equipment, and related production equipment.
  • Support mold changes on injection molding machines.
  • Operate shop equipment including milling machines, lathes, drill presses, band saws, welders, torches, and electrical testers.
  • Use powered and non-powered hand tools for repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Identify and communicate requirements for spare parts, replacement parts, tools, and other resources.
  • Read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD files as required.
  • Document repairs, maintenance activities, observations, and equipment concerns.
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety, housekeeping, and operating procedures.
  • Participate in technical training and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support overtime requirements based on production needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Process Technician with hands-on plastic injection molding experience. The Process Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molds, auxiliary equipment, and production equipment to support safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, experience working with injection molds, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain injection molds, auxiliary equipment, and related production equipment.
  • Support mold changes on injection molding machines.
  • Operate shop equipment including milling machines, lathes, drill presses, band saws, welders, torches, and electrical testers.
  • Use powered and non-powered hand tools for repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules.
  • Support facility maintenance activities involving water, compressed air, electrical systems, and other plant services.
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and on time.
  • Identify and communicate requirements for spare parts, replacement parts, tools, and other resources.
  • Read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD files as required.
  • Document repairs, maintenance activities, observations, and equipment concerns.
  • Troubleshoot production and equipment issues and communicate findings to leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety, housekeeping, and operating procedures.
  • Participate in technical training and continuous improvement activities.

Required Qualifications
