Job description

Process Technician I

We are currently seeking a Process Technician I. The Process Tech I uses batch sheets to brew, steep, and filter coffee extracts according to prescribed recipes. This position is responsible for the proper entry of critical information into the MES system and ensuring compliance with all HACCP/Food Safety/Quality requirements. It reports to the Production Supervisor and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities

1. Assemble brewer/filter bag/baskets manually.
2. Accurately determine raw material to be used (Coffee or Tea).
3. Use automatic hoist and scale to weigh the correct amount of raw material per batch.
4. Manually mix (plunge) coffee/tea in 100-gallon brewers.
5. Set desired water temperature using control panels.
6. Move product and documentation accurately through different parts of the processing room.
7. Work with water temperatures of 200°F throughout the workday.
8. Connect brewers to pumping systems using clamps and hoses to filter product into tanks for processing.
9. Transport dirty equipment to the washroom for cleaning and sanitizing.
10. Operate Material Handling Equipment as needed.
11. Comply with all HACCP and Food Safety/Quality requirements.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Forklift certification (training available).
• Proven time management skills.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Ability to stand and walk for at least 8 hours per shift.
• Capability to lift, carry, or move weights up to 75 lbs.
• Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
• Ability to detect noises, feel objects, and manipulate materials.
• Ability to work with high temperatures (up to 200°F water).
