Job summary

Kuraray America, Inc. in Pasadena, TX is seeking a Process Technician to perform routine inspections, startups/shutdowns, troubleshooting, and process optimization in a petro-chemical setting.

You will ensure safety, quality, and efficient operation while adhering to SOPs and environmental guidelines. The role requires a high school diploma with 3 years of related experience, and preferred credentials include an Associate degree or Certificate in Process Technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of related petro-chemical or plant operations experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot process problems (on-the-job or college).
• Equipment troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Above-average mechanical and mathematical skills.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions in process operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (including overtime) and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of SOPs in chemical processing and quality control practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine visual inspection of plant process areas and equipment.
• Review equipment operation and record readings for the area.
• Start up and shut down plant equipment in non-emergency and emergency situations.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process problems and inefficiencies.
• Make adjustments to equipment status as instructed.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas.
• Review process/analytical results and trends.
• Record performance of tasks and process status.
• Follow safety and environmental guidelines and attend trainings.
• Participate in emergency response and training exercises.
• Know and use proper PPE and SOPs for routine tasks.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs.
• Participate in plant Emergency Response Team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
