Job summary

Newell Brands is seeking a Process Technician 1 to join our manufacturing team in Winchester, VA. You will start, operate, and adjust machinery with a strong focus on safety and quality, and you will contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

The role requires independent work, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in English. Familiarity with hand tools and basic electrical/mechanical tasks is expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
  • Forklift, cranes and other industrial vehicles experience preferred
  • 2+ years of mechanical or technical experience preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools ranging from common hand and power tools to fabrication tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking basic English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and adjust manufacturing machinery safely.
  • Monitor machine status and maintain records.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs using manuals and parts catalogs.
  • Calibrate equipment to ensure quality production.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and keep work area clean and organized.
  • Assist management with other tasks as directed.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Process Technician 1 to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for starting, operating, and adjusting manufacturing machinery and equipment. This role requires a focus on safety, an understanding of quality, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:
  • Use technician computer to monitor and record machine statuses as well as maintain daily records of maintenance or other projects preformed

  • Diagnose faults, malfunctions, and mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs

  • Calibrate or adjust machinery or equipment to ensure quality production

  • Test, troubleshoot and adjust manufacturing machinery and equipment

  • Keep work area clean and organized

  • Other items as directed by management

Level 1 Skills Include:
  • LOTO assessments, JSA creation

  • Basic multimeter usage (voltage and resistance checks)

  • Hydraulic, air, and water hose fabrication

  • Hot stamp and auxiliary equipment troubleshooting

  • Drilling tap and die, thread insert repair

  • Blender and weigh bin calibration

  • Nozzle and heater block wiring

  • Advanced rigging

  • Silicone sprayer troubleshooting

  • Compounding, low and high pressure injection fundamentals

  • Mold change process and repair fundamentals

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.

The Virginia base pay range for this position is from $24.50-$29.00. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position.
