Job summary

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Process Technician for a Sugar Land, Texas facility. The role is full-time, temporary to hire, with a pay rate of $22.00–$25.00 per hour and a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

You will work with engineering staff, maintain and troubleshoot machines, perform startup checks, solder and operate microscopes, and assist with experiments and data collection.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or vocational training preferred.
• 1 year in assembly or equipment operation required.
• Experience with soldering, microscopes and measurement tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with Excel or Access and CAD tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Train and work with engineering staff on processes.
• Maintain multiple machines in a designated area.
• Perform daily startup checks and calibrations.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and process issues.
• Modify machine programs and back up configurations.
• Assist engineers with experiments and data collection.
• Soldering and rework tasks as needed.
• Provide operator backup and training when required.
• Report equipment and process issues to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate documentation and teamwork communication.

Process Technician Duties and Responsibilities

• Train and work directly with engineering staff.
• Maintain multiple machines within a designated section.
• Perform daily equipment startup checks and calibrations.
• Conduct basic repairs and troubleshooting (hardware, software, process).
• Modify or create machine programs and back up configurations.
• Assist engineers with experiments and data collection.
• Soldering and rework tasks as needed.
• Provide operator backup and training when required.
• Report equipment and process issues to supervisors or managers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the team.

Process Technician Qualifications and Requirements

• Vocational Course Graduate or Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum1 year in assembly or equipment operation.
• Preferred: 3 years in a manufacturing setting, with experience in:
• Soldering and microscope use, Electro-mechanical and measurement tools, Programming or working with automated systems
• Familiarity with Excel or Access.
• Computer skills and experience with at least one programming language or CAD software.
• Comfortable using microscopes and small tools.
