Job summary

Automation Personnel Services, based in Sugar Land, TX, seeks Fab Operations Technicians to ensure safe, reliable operation of the cleanroom and utility systems supporting 24/7 manufacturing. The role monitors critical systems, responds to alarms, conducts inspections, and supports preventive maintenance and emergency response.

The position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, 3–4 days a week), with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years in facilities operations, industrial maintenance, semiconductor manufacturing, or similar technical env.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC and utility systems.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor BAS, EMS, and local control systems in cleanroom facilities.
  • Operate and monitor HVAC, chilled water, PCW, CDA, nitrogen distribution, vacuum, electrical, DI water and wastewater systems.

Fab Operations Technicians

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a reliable and motivated Fab Operations Technicians for a company based in Sugar Land, Texas. The Fab Operations Technician is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of cleanroom facility and utility systems supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations. This position monitors critical systems, responds to alarms, performs routine inspections, executes preventive maintenance activities, and supports emergency response efforts to ensure continuous cleanroom and production utility operation. This position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.3-4 days a week) and supports continuous manufacturing operations.

Pay Rate

$20.00 to $23.00 an hour

Fab Operations Technicians Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor facility and utility systems through Building Automation Systems (BAS), Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS), and local control systems.
  • Operate and monitor cleanroom facility utility systems, including: HVAC Systems, Chilled Water Systems, Process Cooling Water (PCW) Systems, Compressed Dry Air (CDA) Systems, Nitrogen Distribution Systems, Vacuum Systems, Electrical Distribution Systems, DI Water and Wastewater Systems
  • Monitor system performance, record operating parameters, and identify abnormal conditions.
  • Perform routine operational adjustments to maintain system performance and reliability.
  • Respond promptly to equipment alarms, system failures, and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Escalate issues to Facilities Engineers or management when necessary.
  • Assist with equipment repairs, system shutdowns, startups, and commissioning activities.
  • Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, cleanroom protocols, and company standards.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Complete required documentation, maintenance records, and operational logs accurately and timely.
  • Communicate shift status, equipment conditions, and operational issues during shift turnover.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency.
Fab Operations Technicians Qualifications and Requirement
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, military technical training, or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Industrial Maintenance, or related technical field.
  • 1+ years of experience in facilities operations, industrial maintenance, semiconductor manufacturing, or a similar technical environment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and utility systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment using standard maintenance tools and instruments.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment drawings, P&IDs, and operating procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience using maintenance management or monitoring systems.
