Job summary

FPC National in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to lead and support process safety programs at a chemical manufacturing facility. You will focus on identifying and reducing operational risks while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate across engineering, operations, and maintenance to drive PHA/HAZOP/LOPA analyses, support incident investigations, and strengthen the site’s safety culture through training and proactive risk reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience in a facility covered by OSHA PSM and EPA RMP requirements.
• Strong understanding of process safety regulations and risk assessment.
• Experience with PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, and Management of Change (MOC).
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOP, and Layer of Protection Analyses (LOPA).
• Oversee and improve OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance.
• Identify process hazards and develop risk-reduction strategies.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve safety systems.
• Support incident investigations, audits, and corrective action plans.
• Evaluate safety risks associated with new products, technologies, and process changes.
• Develop and deliver process safety training.
