Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Process Safety Engineer in Illinois to lead PHAs for new and existing processes and to drive compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP standards. You will manage MOC activities and perform incident investigations while maintaining essential safety documentation.

The role requires 5+ years of process safety experience in chemical manufacturing, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Safety, or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of process safety experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM and EPA Risk Management Program requirements.
  • Experience leading PHAs, MOCs, incident investigations, and compliance audits.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) for new and existing processes.
  • Facilitate Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
  • Identify, design, and implement process safety engineering controls.
  • Support OSHA PSM and EPA RMP program compliance activities.
  • Conduct incident investigations and manage corrective actions.
  • Support mechanical integrity and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain process safety information and system documentation.
  • Track safety metrics and support compliance audits and training.
