Job summary

RXinsider LTD. seeks a Process Safety Engineer (PHA facilitator) to support PHAs across USA and Canada from Joliet, IL. You will facilitate PHA studies, review process drawings, train site personnel, and mentor teams regionally.

The role involves travel up to 40% and working at manufacturing sites, with emphasis on PHAs, LOPA, and PHAPro documentation. Excellent English communication and engineering background required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in engineering (chemical, electrical, mechanical, safety) or related field.
• 5 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• 3 years’ experience in PHA facilitation in batch chemical industry in process safety, production, engineering or notified body.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, facilitation skills, and client service.
• No immigration sponsorship is available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, facilitate, and scribe PHA studies using What-If, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA.
• Understand and comply with internal policies, standards and accepted good engineering practices relating to PHAs.
• Ensure PHA scenarios, consequences, safeguards, and recommendations are captured in the PHA software (PHAPro).
• Write and review technical reports.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and drawings.
• Provide training to regional sites to participate in PHAs.
• Mentor associates at manufacturing sites to coach and develop PHA skills across the region.
• Build and maintain oversight of regional PHA calendar / KPIs for the region.
• Provide quality assurance of recommendation close out.
