Job summary

Jensen Hughes in Atlanta seeks a Process Safety Consultant specializing in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) to lead risk assessment projects for manufacturing and chemical processing clients. You will apply PHA methodologies to identify hazards and drive compliant safety programs.

You will perform PHA studies (HAZOP, What-If, LOPA, FMEA), prepare technical reports, support regulatory compliance, and engage with clients from scoping through execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (or related field)
• 5+ years of experience in process safety role with direct involvement in PHAs
• Recognized certification in PHA leadership
• Professional credentials such as PE, FS Eng or CFSE are highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) using HAZOP, What‑If, LOPA and FMEA
• Guide clients through PHA lifecycle management including methodology, pre-study prep, team coordination, study execution and follow-up recommendations
• Provide consulting on flammable liquids, reactive chemistry, and other high hazard materials
• Analyze process safety information to support hazard analysis
• Prepare and peer-review high-quality PHA reports for clients and regulatory authorities
• Conduct site visits to evaluate risk and compliance with NFPA, OSHA PSM, and insurer standards
• Support proposal development and participate in client engagements to scope new PHA work
