Job summary

Koch is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to bolster PHA ownership and risk assessment capabilities across multiple operating sites in the US. The role focuses on building relationships with site personnel, facilitating risk assessments, and transforming PHA processes with data-driven insights.

Based near Houston or Victoria, TX with hybrid work options and travel (primarily US/Canada). Required engineering background and PHA/LOPA experience, with potential for international travel.

Qualifications

  • Process plant experience or bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience facilitating PHA and risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA, etc.).
  • Strong communication and leadership to influence site personnel.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Familiarity with process safety elements: MOC, Incident Investigation, Risk Management, Facility Siting.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and risk assessment capability with site personnel.
  • Lead cross-site and cross-functional efforts to advance risk assessment and PHA program consistency.
  • Provide on-site PHA/risk assessment facilitation when needed.
  • Benchmark to improve PHA performance and develop new guidance as needed.
  • Assist with PHA transformation by using site data to frame risk opportunities.
  • Support day-to-day process safety for multiple sites in related disciplines.
