Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation is seeking a Process Safety Engineer II to lead PSM activities across North America. The role focuses on risk reduction, process safety, and driving operational excellence in our chemical manufacturing sites.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, 5+ years in process or project engineering, and strong knowledge of NFPA/API standards, AutoCAD, P&IDs, and project management tools. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in process or project engineering within the chemical industry.
• Strong Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
• Knowledge of NFPA, API RP 520/521, AutoCAD, P&IDs, and project management tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including PHAs, risk assessments, PSSRs, and hazard reviews.
• Identify and implement safety, reliability, and process improvement solutions.
• Manage safety-related capital projects from concept through startup.
• Conduct HAZOPs, support Management of Change (MOC), and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Operations, EHS, Maintenance, Procurement, and external partners.
• Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Process Safety Engineer II North America

Join Sun Chemical's Group Engineering team and help drive process safety, risk reduction, and operational excellence across our North American manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities
