Sun Chemical is seeking a Plant Manager for its New Brunswick, NJ site to provide hands-on leadership across EHS, production, quality, maintenance and supply chain, driving safety, quality, cost management and people development.

The role includes developing the site Annual Operating Plan, coaching teams, aligning operations with sales and product development, and ensuring compliance with Sun Chemical standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years in a leadership/supervisory role in manufacturing.
• EHS leadership experience.
• 5 years in chemical manufacturing industry.

Our New Brunswick site is seeking a Plant Manager to provide hands-on leadership, direction, focus and execution for all operational activities at the site. This includes a comprehensive range of activities including EHS, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Material Requirements Planning, Product Development, Warehouse Operations, Continuous Improvement, Cost Management, and People Management.

In addition, the position ensures that all processes and activities comply with Sun Chemical, Federal, State, local policies & regulations and Sun Chemical values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship.

The New Brunswick operation is a small site that produces high-performance solid pigment preparations for the plastics, coatings & ink industries.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Develop an Annual Operating Plan for the site. Implement the plan on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to meet customer needs and corporate objectives.
• Develop & coach team members to reach their fullest potential.
• Serve as a hands-on leader in all areas of Operations.
• Establish and support a strong safety culture.
• Communicate with sales & marketing, product development, product management, and customers to meet their needs.
• Serve as Process Technology owner, ensuring organisational capability to ensure long-term market viability.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of experience in a leadership/supervisory position in manufacturing
• EHS leadership experience
• 5 years of a background in chemical manufacturing industry

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in science/technical field
• Work experience with SAP
• Working knowledge of Chemical Plant Process Safety and safe handling of chemicals
• 5 years of a background in pigment industry

Salary Range: 135K - 165K annually
