Job summary

Nammo Energetics (NEI) in Perry, Florida, seeks a Process Safety Engineer to identify, evaluate, and mitigate process hazards in manufacturing operations. The role collaborates with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality and EHS to ensure safe design and operation while meeting production goals.

The ideal candidate will lead PHAs and apply risk assessment methods in a manufacturing environment, with on-site work and travel to Norway within 12–18 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Five or more years of engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Experience leading or participating in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies including HAZOP, FMEA, What-If Analysis or LOPA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate PHAs using HAZOP, What-If, FMEA and LOPA.
• Support Zero Harm through safety audits, observations, Job Safety Analyses and Take 5s.
• Conduct risk assessments for new equipment, processes, facility changes, and capital projects.
• Support MOC activities by evaluating safety impacts prior to implementation.
• Develop PSI, P&IDs, operating procedures, and other technical docs.
• Identify hazards and recommend engineering controls to reduce risk.
• Participate in equipment design reviews, commissioning, and readiness assessments.
• Support incident investigations and root-cause analysis for corrective actions.
