Job summary

Nammo Energetics (NEI) in Perry, Florida seeks a Process Safety Engineer to identify, evaluate, and mitigate process hazards in manufacturing. You will lead PHAs and work with engineering, operations, and EHS to design safe processes and support production goals.

The role requires strong knowledge of risk assessment methods (HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA) and collaboration across cross-functional teams. Some travel to Norway is required within the first 12–18 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Five (5) or more years of engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Experience leading or participating in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies including HAZOP, FMEA, What-If Analysis, or LOPA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses using HAZOP, What-If, FMEA, and LOPA.
• Drive Zero Harm through safety audits, observations, JSA, and Take 5 checks.
• Conduct risk assessments for equipment, processes, and capital projects.
• Support Management of Change activities by evaluating safety impacts.
• Develop PSI, P&IDs, operating procedures, and other documentation.
• Identify hazards and recommend engineering controls to reduce risk.
• Participate in design reviews, commissioning, and readiness assessments.
• Support incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
