Job summary

Soarnol in La Porte, TX seeks a Process Safety Management Engineer to lead the PSM program, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and driving continuous safety improvements on site.

You will coordinate PHAs, MOC, mechanical integrity, incident investigations, and training across Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering, while delivering field-based support and safety metrics reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science or technical field, ideally Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
• 2+ years developing, maintaining or operating PSM compliance systems
• Detailed understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119
• Experience with PHA management software to document PHAs and what-if studies
• Proficient MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain PSM systems in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119
• Support all 14 PSM elements including PHA, MOC, MII, incident investigations, operating procedures, audits, training, and emergency response
• Facilitate PHAs, risk assessments, and gap analyses for improvements
• Coordinate incident investigations, conduct root cause analyses, implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering to improve site safety
• Develop and deliver PSM training for employees and contractors
• Monitor safety metrics and prepare leadership reports
• Support regional standardization of PSM programs and share best practices
